Established in 1972, Beacon Marine has developed an outstanding reputation as a leader in new and used boat sales in W.A. Operating from our prominent premises at 12 Mews Road, Fremantle, Beacon Marine is promoted by three highly regarded, long time servants of the luxury launch industry. The luxury launch market is serviced by Paul Cotton, Fred Hayman and Ken Sims all devoting their extensive expertise full time into the sale of new and used boats. Beacon Marine have been the distributors of the Riviera range of luxury flybridge cruisers for the past 16 years and have established an extremely strong and loyal following. We offer the complete range of Riviera models and have sold over 200 new Riviera’s.
Sharlene Holtom is the Assistant General Manager and has been with Beacon Marine for over 16 years after joining in 1992. She also purchased her own business at the age of 21 and over the years has developed that into a very successful operation. Sharlene has a versatile and diverse knowledge in management, administration, accounting, plus her excellent organisation skills and enthusiastic attitude, make her a huge asset of the business.
Paul Cotton has been boating all his life and commenced in the marine industry over a decade after spending 14 years in the finance industry. A keen yachtsman since the age of nine, Paul is the current Treasurer of the Marine Brokers Institute and has been dealing with Beacon Marine for many years. Having developed a large and exclusive client base, he is able to provide an outstanding knowledge of new Riviera's and quality pre-loved vessels. Paul has an intimate understanding of all Beacon's stock and has over the years earned much praise for his fantastic service to our customers.
Fred Hayman has recently joined Beacon Marine. He is married with three grown up children, two sons and a daughter. Fred has had over 30 years experience in the boating industry and during this time he has owned 18 boats. He was a member of the Perth Flying Squadron Yacht Club for over 15 years, where he served as a committee member and Rear Commodore of Power. For the past 20 years he has been working as a marine broker selling new and used boats. His vast knowledge and experience makes him a valued member of our team.Ken Sims spent most of his working life in the equipment hire business both as the owner of his own hire business and then as State Manager of Coates Hire for 14 years. During that time he became a boat owner which subsequently led him to be involved in boat sales after retiring from Coates Hire. With his sales and administration experience he was invited in 1991 by Kel Brown to redesign and instigate the alterations required to establish a boat brokerage on the Mews Road site. Although he intended this to be a short term position while he established the brokerage Ken enjoyed it so much that he remained as both salesman and the Manager until June 2006 (15 years) when he handed over the day to day management. Ken still maintains his strong customer base in the sales side of his business without the day to day management responsibilities. 20 years later Ken is still here at Beacon Marine and we all consider him to be a most viable asset to the business as he certainly knows just about everything in the boating industry!
David Etheridge has recently moved from our Bayswater office, having managed that office since 1972. David has held many positions within the boating industry. He was a committee member of the BIA of W.A. for over five years and also held the Vice President's position. David brings a wealth of experience to the team having been W.A. Mercury Dealer of the Year in excess of 10 times. Contact - 0417 948 262. David is now responsible for sales support at Beacon Marine.
Vicki Marriott has recently joined the team at Beacon Marine and is responsible for the office administration. She has as a wealth of knowledge in this area, having previously been employed as Office Manager for Uniting Church Homes for seven years. Prior to working with Uniting Church Homes, Vicki was employed by several companies in various office administration roles, as well as previously owning and operating her own investigations and recoveries business for several years.Vicki is a humble, friendly and dedicated worker and brings vast experience in office administration to the team.
The Service Team - Beacon Marine have enjoyed the exclusive use of Chris Woodward and his team from CJW Marine to pre-deliver and maintain over 120 new Riviera's. CJW Marine are known in W.A. circles as the ultimate team in Riviera service and repair. There is no doubt that the outstanding service of Beacon Marine is supplemented to a great degree by Chris and his staff.
